Woman with Cerebral Palsy Becomes ‘Honorary Deputy’

Deb Stringham, 60 of Twin Falls, had a lifelong dream of being a police officer. Unfortunately, this is a dream she would never be able to fulfill as she suffers from cerebral palsy. Sheriff Tom Carter and Police Chief Craig Kingsbury paid Stringham a visit on Mar 22nd to bestow upon her the title of “Honorary Deputy.”

“My goal was to make her feel special,” Carter said. “… And that’s exactly what I accomplished.”

Stringham said she was surprised when the police chief and sheriff arrived on Tuesday afternoon.

“I was scared,” she said. “I thought I was in trouble.”

Along with her new title, Stringman also received a medallion and a challenge coin.
